The real news
The story, straight
A pickup carries your stuff. A factory builds the pickup.
But factory space is limited, so making more of a different vehicle can mean clearing room.
On Nov. 6, Elon Musk said Tesla plans to wind down Cybertruck production at its Texas factory around mid-2027 to make room for increased Cybercab output, Reuters reports via NBC News. This is a future plan, not a shutdown that has happened.
Whether production moves elsewhere or ends entirely remains unclear.
Kelley Blue Book estimates 20,237 Cybertrucks sold in the US in 2025, down 48% from 38,965 in 2024. Tesla does not report separate Cybertruck sales.
Before launch, Musk predicted annual sales of 250,000. That was his prediction, not a sales result, and the US figures aren't a worldwide comparison.
Lil'meme is trying to pack the angular truck into a cardboard moving box. Finally, a pickup that needs help moving.
The useful lesson: a futuristic shape doesn't guarantee buyers. Watch sales rather than treating predictions as receipts.
Making room for Cybercab doesn't prove that bet will succeed either.
