Usually, you put cheese on a burger. Chuck Schumer put his political comeback on it.

The callback was to Father's Day 2024. Schumer posted a grill photo showing cheese already sitting on a raw patty, got mocked and eventually deleted it.

Now he was reclaiming the embarrassment himself.

“Cooked” means finished or badly beaten; saying someone “cooked” can mean they did something well. The joke serves both meanings on the same bun.
