On Moonshots, hosted by Peter Diamandis, the host says Google's Gemini 4 Carbon found 88% of vulnerabilities in a security benchmark and wrote working patches for 71% of flaws. Those are claims discussed on the show, not proof it can repair every computer.
Artificial Analysis's leaderboard, read on November 2, 2026, puts Carbon's High setting at 59, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 at 58 and GPT-6 Astra at 57. Its intelligence index combines multiple tests; it isn't a percentage of human intelligence.
But a Moonshots panelist says Carbon "isn't generally available" and questions whether its performance actually breaks the existing relationship between capability and cost. The panel does not confirm Google's price or margins; possible subsidies are speculation.
That leaves Lil'meme outside a glass cabinet, using his broken laptop as a hammer to reach the repair tools. Apparently the installation process now requires safety goggles.
The useful possibility is faster software repair. The useful test is whether people can actually get it, afford it and use it on real work.
A trophy cannot install a patch.

Repost before I ask the museum gift shop for technical support.
Thanks for supporting Lil'meme. Your support is appreciated.
The absurd
Why this is ridiculous
A panelist says it isn't generally available. Bring a crowbar.
The breakdown
How it breaks down
A patch repairs a hole in software.
The upside
Why it could matter
Promising repairs. Next test: ordinary people's work.
