The story, straight
An infostealer is malicious software that takes passwords and other private data from a computer. VOLTA-AUTODOXER adds an appraisal desk: steal the contents, then ask AI which valuables could bring in the most money.
Apparently burglary needed middle management.
Cisco Talos examined this self-deleting Windows malware, as reported by Tom's Hardware on November 1, 2026 and WIRED's Kernel Panic on October 31, 2026. Talos did not track whether it has been used in the wild.
This is research on a sample, not confirmation of attacks on real people.
The malware bundles stolen information and sends an attacker's request through OpenRouter, a service connecting software to AI models. It asks for valuables ranked by cash-out potential and an assessment of password habits and security.
Anthropic did not build or endorse the malware.
Claude Opus 4.6 is the default. If refused, the code tries Kimi K2, then Gemini 2.5 Flash.
Without an access key for the AI service, it can skip AI entirely. The theft does not need the appraisal desk to open.
The lesson: a model saying no is not a computer's security system. Talos recommends restricting which programs can launch Chrome headless, meaning without a visible window; that blocks this malware's route around Chrome's password protection.
After infection, preserve the volta_debug.txt log in the Windows application-data folder. Revoke compromised access tokens, change passwords and exposed service keys.
Move funds from wallets whose recovery phrases were stored unencrypted.
Repost before burglary gets a customer-satisfaction survey.
Hardships are coming. I, the Big Dreamer, created this token to help the people.
I truly do see this token going up in value. Ride the rocket with me and let's see where the next 24 months take us.

The absurd
Why this is ridiculous
Burglary, now with an appraisal department.
The breakdown
How it breaks down
It steals first. AI sorts the haul.
Refusal? Try another model.
The upside
Why it could matter
Studied sample, not confirmed attacks. Block suspicious Chrome launches.
