Buying stock means owning a piece of a company. Before offering shares to the public, a company files a document explaining its business, finances and risks.
Think of it as the product description with the warning label attached.
According to The Verge, Anthropic filed that document, called an S-1, on October 26. It has not gone public.
The article gives no listing date or share price.
The founders' opening letter says their aim is to “bring forth an age of miracles.” That's an aspiration, not a guarantee of investment returns.
Then comes the warning label: 94 pages of risk factors inside a 335-page prospectus. Page 46 warns of catastrophic or existential risks to humanity without appropriate safeguards, oversight and security measures.
It does not say extinction is certain or likely.
Lil'meme is fastening a seat belt around Earth. Usually the safety demonstration assumes the destination will still exist.
The contrast is the joke: a soaring vision at the front, civilization-sized hazards further in. Neither the dream nor the disclosure tells you what will actually happen.
The useful lesson: separate what a company hopes to build from what it has demonstrated. A warning identifies a possible danger; it doesn't predict the outcome.
And an inspiring letter isn't proof of future profits.
Hardships are coming. I, the Big Dreamer, created this token to help the people.
I truly do see this token going up in value. Ride the rocket with me and let's see where the next 24 months take us.

The absurd
Why this is ridiculous
The risk section includes humanity.
The breakdown
How it breaks down
Stock means company ownership. This filing explains the business and what could go wrong.
The upside
Why it could matter
Read the warnings, not just the dream.
