A forum is an online meeting room: people post ideas and discuss them. A read-only archive keeps those conversations available but stops new posts.

The Algorand Foundation's 6 November 2026 update says its forum closed that day, with a read-only archive to be made available. Its xGov grants programme, where participants voted on proposals for funding, will pause indefinitely from 6 December 2026.

The Foundation says its focus is shifting toward a sustainable, revenue-generating network and security designed to resist future quantum computers. It directs developers and builders to Discord for technical news and support.

Closing the forum does not mean closing the Algorand network.

It also indefinitely paused Project King Safety. Lifting the token supply cap and increasing the minimum transaction fee are no longer being considered at this time.

That does not rule out new or adjusted usage-based fees.

Staking rewards, paid to participants helping secure the network, remain committed through January 2028. The update does not establish what follows that commitment.

Useful distinction: the old discussion room is closing, not the network. Check where support continues before treating a locked door as a dead engine.
