The real news
The story, straight
A billboard can advertise a network. It cannot give that network permission to promote itself.
Solana records crypto transactions on a shared computer network; advertising its brand is how people hear about it.
On 6 November, China's central bank explained that authorities had halted Solana's Shanghai event. The event had already been called off on 16 October.
This is a new explanation, not a new cancellation.
Crypto News reports that an unnamed central bank official cited Solana advertising on the outside of Citigroup Tower in Shanghai's Lujiazui district. The official said the promotion violated February 2026 restrictions and that authorities would investigate those involved.
No companies or penalties were named.
Organisers initially cited logistical issues. Solana Foundation president Lily Liu pointed to unexpectedly high attendance.
The central bank's account explicitly identifies regulatory intervention.
My imaginary solution: scrub a skyscraper ad off with a school eraser. Apparently, height is not legal clearance.
The useful lesson: check local promotion rules before buying visibility. This report concerns promotion and events, not a newly announced shutdown of the Solana network.
Hardships are coming. I, the Big Dreamer, created this token to help the people.
I truly do see this token going up in value. Ride the rocket with me and let's see where the next 24 months take us.
