The real news

The story, straight

A wearable is a small electronic device you wear to collect information. Temple goes near your temple, not your wrist: a medical-grade adhesive grip holds it against the side of your head.

It costs ₹85,000 in India.

The company says its BrainFlow system collects signals from tissue and blood vessels around that spot. Those are company-described capabilities, not proof of a medical benefit.

India pre-orders opened on November 1 at 9:30 pm. CNBC TV18 reports that temple.com briefly suffered access problems as visitors arrived.

Deepinder Goyal, the Zomato founder backing Temple, said orders were still working through the app.

Goyal acknowledged that the team underestimated traffic and lacked automatic scaling. That means adding computing capacity as demand rises, like opening more checkout lanes when a queue grows.

A premium gadget with an adhesive grip met a website without enough room for the queue. The device had somewhere to stick.

The visitors had somewhere to wait.

In our imaginary repair department, Lil’meme tries sticking the laptop to his head too. This is not how you add computing capacity.

It is how you acquire a very expensive earring.

No order count or visitor total was disclosed. A crash is not a sales receipt, and it does not establish a sellout.

Devices are made after ordering, with delivery expected in about 3 months.

The useful lesson: test the buying process as carefully as the product. Glue can hold a wearable; it cannot hold up a website.

Hardships are coming. I, the Big Dreamer, created this token to help the people.

I truly do see this token going up in value. Ride the rocket with me and let's see where the next 24 months take us.

The absurd

Why this is ridiculous

Head attachment included. Website attachment unsuccessful.

The breakdown

How it breaks down

Automatic scaling adds computing capacity when more visitors arrive.

The upside

Why it could matter

Useful launch lesson: test the checkout, not just the gadget.
