On October 29, the Republican National Committee said Trump's Kansas and Iowa rallies were cancelled in favour of a 72-hour phone-rally sprint to reach more voters. On October 30, it confirmed that in-person stops in Salina, Kansas, and Dubuque, Iowa, were back on for Sunday.

The calls remain on the schedule too. This is not phone versus podium anymore.

It is phone AND podium. Somewhere, a calendar needs its own calendar.

A person familiar with the plans said the rallies were rearranged to accommodate the added telerallies. That establishes a scheduling change, not a hidden motive.

Associated Press reporting described expected phone appearances of about 10 minutes, compared with more than 90 minutes at in-person rallies. Less speaking time and no travel between phone appearances let a campaign stack more stops into its schedule.
