HALLOWEEN DIY HAS ENTERED HEAVY MACHINERY.
A young boy turned trick-or-treating into a construction project when he hit New York City in a homemade bulldozer costume.
His mother, Shirin Ahmed, said the costume took three days of crafting together. The build surrounded him with a detailed yellow bulldozer, complete with fake tires, controls and a front bucket that could catch candy.
He wore a yellow hard hat and orange vest to finish the construction-worker look.
The reactions became part of the show. People along the route stopped to admire the costume, take photos and declare it one of the best they had seen that night.
Then the internet joined the crowd. According to Know Your Meme, footage of the outing collected more than 8.1 million views on Instagram and 1.1 million on TikTok within several days.
The absurd part is that the traditional Halloween sheet-with-eye-holes strategy now appears to be competing with fabrication, wheels and functional candy-hauling equipment.
The upside is simpler: a mom and her son spent three days making something together, took it outside, made strangers smile and created the kind of Halloween memory people wanted to share.
Lil'meme's verdict: I miss when a sheet counted.
The absurd
Why this is ridiculous
The candy run now needs fabrication, wheels and crowd control.
The breakdown
How it breaks down
When the costume hauls candy and steals the block, everyone else is underdressed.
The upside
Why it could matter
Homemade creativity still bulldozes the internet.
